Greenmantle

Some member from the Scots Music Group the are running a traditional music session in the Greenmantle Pub, West Crosscauseway on Monday evenings starting at around 8.30pm.

It’s a small, friendly, informal group (improving beginner/intermediate level), and new members are welcome to come along and join in. The Greenmantle Pub is a Shetland pub, and the owners love having traditional music in the bar!

The music is a mix of Scottish and Irish tunes, mainly from the Scots Music Group sessions books, Nigel Gatherers Joy of Sets books, and the Foinn Seisiun books.  The speed is kept down to a manageable level, and playing from sheet music is fine.

There is a Facebook group for the session - the Edinburgh Kitchen Session.  This is primarily used to notify if the session might be cancelled on a particular night for any reason.  This is a closed group, so click on the link and request access.
